European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Rise in Monday Trading

11:19 AM EDT, 05/06/2024 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts started the week off on a positive note, rising 0.42% to 1,380.39 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies Grifols ( GRFS ) and Cellectis ( CLLS ) , which climbed 7.5% and 7% respectively. They were followed by petroleum refiner Equinor ( EQNR ) and kidney dialysis company Fresenius Medical Care ( FMS ) , which rose 2.9% and 1.9% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by telecommunications company VEON (VEON) and internet advertising firm Criteo ( CRTO ) , which fell 2.2% and 1.6% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company Ascendis Pharma ( ASND ) and biotech firm Evaxion Biotech ( EVAX ) , which were down 1.4% and 1% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies TC Biopharm ( TCBP ) and Amarin ( AMRN ) , which advanced 35% and 7.1% respectively. They were followed by software firm Endava ( DAVA ) and biotech firm Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) , which increased 2.9% and 2.6% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical companies Biodexa Pharmaceuticals ( BDRX ) and Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) , which lost 5.9% and 2.9% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Bicycle Therapeutics ( BCYC ) and Verona Pharma ( VRNA ) , which dropped 2.2% and 1.9% respectively.
