From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies Cellectis ( CLLS ) and Genfit ( GNFT ) , which climbed 8% and 5.9%, respectively. They were followed by biotech firm Evaxion Biotech ( EVAX ) and telecommunications company Ericsson (ERIC), which rose 5.7% and 2.3%, respectively.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by biotech firm Biophytis ( BPTS ) and biopharmaceutical company Grifols ( GRFS ) , which fell 5.5% and 1.4%, respectively. They were followed by consumer lending firm Unilever ( UL ) and telecommunications operator Telefonica ( TEF ) , which were off 0.8% and 0.7%, respectively.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies Amarin ( AMRN ) and Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) , which advanced 9.6% and 4.6%, respectively. They were followed by financial services company Barclays ( JJCTF ) and biopharmaceutical company Mereo BioPharma Group ( MREO ) , which increased 2.9% and 2.4%, respectively.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical companies Biodexa Pharmaceuticals ( BDRX ) and NuCana ( NCNA ) , which dropped 10% and 5.4%, respectively. They were followed by software firm Endava ( DAVA ) and insurance company Prudential (PUK), which were down 2.5% and 1.8%, respectively.
