Google on Tuesday unveiled Pixel 3 and PIxel 3 XL, its latest flagship Android smartphones in an event in New York. The company also announced the launch of Pixel Slate and Google Home Hub.
The Pixel 3 and 3 XL both feature larger screens than its previous models. Both phones sport almost the same features.
The Pixel 3 is priced at $799 and will be available in the US from October 18. The new wireless charging dock Pixel Stand is priced at $79.
The Pixel 3 will cost Rs 71,000 for the 64GB variant in India and up to Rs 80,000 for the 128GB storage variant. The Pixel 3 XL will be available at Rs 83,000 for the 64GB variant and up to Rs 92,000 for the 128GB model.
The pre-orders for the devices begin on October 11 in India and it will be available from November.
"It's a phone that can answer itself, a camera that won't miss a shot, and a whole new experience while it's charging," Google said during the launch.
The phone comes in three colours -- Black, White and Not-Pink.
The 3 XL has a 6.3-inch display, while the 3 has a 5.5-inch screen. Overall, though, the actual phones are very similar in size and handling to their direct predecessors.
The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL comes with Android 9 Pie and Google’s digital wellness features out of the box. Both phones are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor.
On the camera front, Google has stuck with a single rear camera on both phones. But Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL has two front-facing cameras.
The cameras of both phones offer a lot of features such as group selfies, top shot and night sight. Google lens has been integrated into the camera of both the smartphones.
For the first time, the Pixel phones will support wireless charging and the company is introducing its own charging stand — the Pixel Stand — as an optional accessory.
Both phones have a better screen-to-body ratio and front-firing speakers with a custom sound profile.
The Pixel 3 and XL 3 are the first phones to ship with YouTube music streaming experience and it is free for six months.
