TIME honors NordicTrack’s Ultra 1 for redefining performance, engineering, and design in connected fitness

LOGAN, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

iFIT, Inc., a global leader in connected fitness and interactive content, today announced its inclusion on TIME’s annual Best Inventions of 2025 list in the Design category. According to TIME, the Best Inventions of 2025 spotlights the 300 best inventions making the world better, smarter, and more fun.

The Ultra 1 was designed to solve a long-standing disconnect in home fitness: high-performance treadmills often prioritized engineering over aesthetics, while stylish options compromise on quality. The Ultra 1 reimagines what a treadmill can be – uniting high-performance engineering, immersive technology, and luxury design in one sophisticated machine.

“I’m incredibly proud that TIME recognized iFIT for innovation,” said Kevin Duffy, CEO of iFIT. “Our team has been all-in on reimagining connected fitness — blending luxury design, smart technology, and immersive content to truly inspire people in their fitness journeys. This recognition is a reminder of why we do what we do: to lead the future of fitness.”

Created to mark NordicTrack’s 50th anniversary, Ultra 1 features bespoke-inspired architecture with white oak or walnut and metal V-shaped uprights, making it as much a design statement as a fitness tool. Its advanced decoupled deck delivers a smooth, whisper-quiet run, while features like an eight-fan cooling system, surround sound, and intuitive controls, create a multisensory workout.

Each Ultra 1 comes with access to iFIT’s immersive content library of 10,000+ global workouts, led by world-class trainers. By uniting performance, wellness, and style, the Ultra 1 redefines what a treadmill can be – transforming it from a utilitarian machine into a centerpiece of the modern fitness experience.

According to TIME, to compile this year’s list, TIME solicited nominations from TIME editors and correspondents around the world, and through an online application process, paying special attention to growing fields—such as health care and AI. TIME then evaluated each contender on a number of key factors, including originality, efficacy, ambition, and impact.
