Strategic acquisition of pre-construction project management tool enables company to deliver industry’s first platform for end-to-end project lifecycle management

GAINESVILLE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Infotech, a leader in infrastructure construction software solutions, today announced the acquisition of Workflow Manager, a planning and project delivery software application for transportation agencies and the consultants who serve them.

The strategic acquisition provides Infotech with an important addition to its portfolio of cloud-based software solutions for civil construction management, seamlessly linking together the plan, estimate, bid, and build phases for true end-to-end project lifecycle management.

“Workflow Manager is a robust tool for the critical planning and pre-construction stages of infrastructure projects managed by Departments of Transportation, Municipal Planning Organizations (MPOs), local public agencies, and architecture, engineering and construction firms,” said Shelly Nooner, chief product officer for Infotech. “By integrating Workflow Manager with our Appia® construction administration platform, we are now able to connect every stage of the project lifecycle, eliminating the need for civil infrastructure professionals to manage separate systems for tracking planning, construction management and project delivery.”

Workflow Manager supports mandated transportation improvement program planning processes, offering comprehensive software tools that empower users to plan, track and manage capital improvement projects effectively. The acquisition by Infotech and its integration into the industry’s first fully integrated platform for capital planning and project management will deliver a number of key benefits to Infotech customers, including:

Unified Project Management: The integration of Workflow Manager into Infotech's Appia® platform for construction management will enable agencies to manage planning and construction within a single, unified environment. This differentiated offering eliminates the need for managing two separate platforms, providing a more efficient and cohesive experience that maintains data through all project phases and simplifies reporting across multiple stakeholders.

Enhanced Financial Visibility: The newly combined solution creates real-time visibility into how allocated funds are spent during construction, facilitating better planning, mitigating delays and controlling cost overruns.

Seamless Data Handoff: The integrated platform ensures a smooth transfer of crucial planning data — such as bid design packages, budgets and requirements — directly into the construction phase to boost efficiency and mitigate risk.

Improved Estimating and Feedback Loops: Incorporating Infotech's existing cost data into Workflow Manager enhances the capital planning tool with more accurate estimating capabilities.

Automated Bid Process: Workflow Manager automates the transfer of design bid packages from the planning phase to Infotech’s Bid Express® platform used by state agencies to manage their bidding process, streamlining a critical step in project execution.

Added Value for Bid Express® Users: The integration provides bidding and non-bidding users of Bid Express® with valuable visibility into planned projects, information that is valuable for market forecasting, bid planning and resource allocation.

"We are thrilled to integrate Workflow Manager into our suite of comprehensive construction solutions," said Ms. Nooner. "This acquisition is a testament to our dedication to innovation and our relentless pursuit of solutions that empower our customers across the entire infrastructure industry. Workflow Manager's advanced pre-construction capabilities complement and expand our existing offerings, allowing us to provide a more comprehensive and integrated platform that drives efficiency, transparency and greater success for our user community."

The acquisition of Workflow Manager by Infotech also ensures that state and local agencies have the data integrity and accuracy necessary for the successful implementation of AI and GIS technology, added Ms. Nooner.
