Mar 10, 2026 8:28 PM

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Berkshire Partners is proud to announce that Managing Director Jon Nuger and Principal John Nelson have been named to GrowthCap’s Top Software Investors of 2025 list. This annual recognition highlights investment professionals based on their investment track records and direct feedback from portfolio company executives.

“At Berkshire Partners, our success is rooted in collaboration and a team-oriented culture that guides our investment strategy and long-term growth,” said Nuger. “It’s an honor to be recognized alongside so many outstanding software investors who are helping shape this dynamic sector.”

Nelson added, “Across Berkshire’s software portfolio, we work hand-in-hand with management teams to support key decisions and execute strategic growth initiatives. Jon and I are pleased to share this recognition with our exceptional colleagues on the technology and communications team, as collective success is a core value of our firm.”

Nuger and Nelson have played pivotal roles in advancing Berkshire’s software investments. Their leadership has helped grow PDQ, a provider of software application inventory and deployment solutions for IT professionals. Nuger also helped spearhead the firm’s March 2025 investment in Medalogix/Forcura, combining two post-acute care technology leaders to create a transformative healthcare platform. He has also been instrumental in scaling Accela, a provider of civic engagement software for government agencies.

Nelson partners closely with Curriculum Associates, a leading provider of K–12 digital learning solutions. He is also involved with portfolio company Asurion, a global leader in device protection, repair, and technology support services.
