Livid Launches Premium as Vimeo Prices Its Own Businesses Out the Door
Aug 12, 2026 6:17 AM

4TB and a new Teams feature, with no per-seat toll and no “contact sales” wall.

Livid built it for the businesses Vimeo just hit with a 7x bill.

DOVER, Del.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Livid, the ad-free video hosting platform built for creators and small businesses, today announced Premium, a new tier with 4TB of storage and a Teams feature. Launch pricing is $24 a month billed annually, or $40 month-to-month. Premium arrives as Vimeo's latest pricing pushes the very customers who built their libraries there toward five-figure contracts.

Livid Premium sits above the $10 Pro plan and its free tier, giving the lineup three clean rungs. Customers get 4TB of storage and Teams with five seats, with more available on request. Businesses that outgrow 4TB get a custom plan, not a runaround. There is no separate business tax. A solo editor and a five-person team pay the same way.

The Squeeze That Built The Plan

Businesses that try to use it get steered toward a Studio plan starting around $5,000 a year. The upgrade path isn’t really a choice. This month, a UK software firm got bent by Vimeo's parent company, which has an acquisition playbook that often includes gutting staff, removing features and hiking prices.

Vimeo moved them off a Business plan at £560 a year (about $750) onto its new Studio plan and billed them £4,000 (about $5,400), a jump of more than 7 times, with no warning and no approval. Nothing about how the team used the platform had changed. Their 10-seat account was using less than 0.2% of its storage allowance. They moved their full library to Livid, where the importer pulled everything across from Vimeo in a couple of clicks, folder structure and privacy settings intact.

“Vimeo spent the year teaching its own customers what happens when you build on someone else's terms,” said Nic Taylor, founding member of Livid. “They squeeze the businesses hardest, because that's where the leverage is. Livid Premium does the opposite. Grow all you want. We're not going to fine you for it.”

The Exodus Has A Destination

Since Livid shipped L.O.V.E., its free Vimeo exporter, in April 2026, almost half a million videos have been pulled off Vimeo through the tool with just a few clicks. That count is climbing by roughly 60,000 a week and is on pace to pass 1 million by year's end. When Vimeo users decide to leave, Livid has become where they land.

Thousands and thousands of creators and small businesses now run on Livid, and plenty arrived without a nudge. One was even quite skeptical of a new video hosting platform, but quickly learned that Livid lives up to its mission to be the friendliest video hosting company in the world, with no catch and no ulterior motive, just a great video product and users it treats well.

About Livid

The name says it all. Livid was founded by industry veterans who watched the consolidation machine eat platforms from the inside and decided to build the exit door instead. Livid is an ad-free video hosting platform for individuals and small businesses. Professional-grade hosting. Transparent, flat-rate pricing. The industry's only free Vimeo migration tool. No smoke. No spoon-bending. Just video hosting that doesn't treat your library like a hostage. Visit livid.com.
