Oct 19, 2023 12:22 PM

Meta, at its Delhi edition of the Instagram University session, on Thursday (October 19), previewed several Instagram features that the tech giant would soon begin testing.

The event was dedicated to educating content creators about exciting new product features that are set to enhance the user experience. These upcoming features, including Birthday's, Audio Notes, Selfie Video Notes, and Multiple Lists in Stories, are geared toward helping GenZ users express themselves.

Birthday's

Wishing friends and followers on their birthdays has become a cultural norm among the youth on Instagram. The 'Birthday's' feature is set to amplify this gesture by allowing users to easily share their special day with their followers, who can celebrate with fun elements such as stickers and confetti.

Audio Notes and Selfie Video Notes

According to Meta, 'Notes' has established itself as a popular means of communication on Instagram, particularly among teens. This feature is receiving enhancements with the addition of 'Audio Notes' that allow users to leave voice recordings as notes, and 'Selfie Video Notes,' enabling the capture of short looping videos that last for 24 hours.

Multiple Lists in Stories

In response to user feedback, Instagram is introducing the 'Multiple Lists in Stories' feature. This update will help users create lists for various social circles, ranging from different groups of friends to family, offering more personalised and tailored experiences.

With these new features, Instagram aims to engage its GenZ audience while continuing to evolve its platform to meet the needs of its user base. The testing phase for these features is expected to commence soon.

Apart from these announcements, Meta India officials also shared insights into how creators can make the most out of all Meta platforms — Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp — and reach a larger audience.
