A week after OnePlus launched its first foldable smartphone — OnePlus Open — the company is all set for its next-generation flagship product OnePlus 12. Rumour has it that the company is planning to launch the smartphone early next year.

According to a report in The Times of India, the latest leak, by a Digital Chat Station, said that the OnePlus 12 will be designed to incorporate the features that were missing in the processor of the previous model. The leak also suggested that the company is planning to bring 50W wireless charging support with OnePlus 12.

Additionally, it has also been tipped that the phone will come with an IR blaster, which is also featured in the OnePlus Open. The IR blaster enables the user to control any other external device such as a TV using the Smart Touch Control on the phone itself.

According to the report, the model is likely to feature a 6.1-inch screen, along with a 120Hz refresh rate. In addition to this, it is expected to be available in two different configured sets: 12GB RAM with 256GB of storage and 16GB RAM with 512GB of storage. The possible colour variations are yet to be confirmed.

The soon-to-be-launched model is rumoured to house a triple rear camera system with the Hasselblad technology. The rear camera setup will place a primary lens of 50MP, an ultra-wide-angle lens of 50MP and a telephoto camera of 64MP with 3x optical zoom. Additionally, on the front setup, the OnePlus 12 is likely to get a 32MP lens.

The latest OnePlus product is expected to be introduced in December 2023 in China and the early months of 2024 in India.

On Tuesday, at an event in China, OnePlus unveiled the new BOE X1 2K OLED display technology. According to an Indian Express report, the OnePlus 12 is expected to get a new BOE-made display with a 2K resolution, powered by a new Display P1 chip, which has been developed by Oppo.

According to the company, the new display will offer 90% improved performance along with 13% lower power consumption. The company has confirmed the OnePlus Ace 3, which is expected to be launched on the OnePlus 12R in India, will have a 1.5K resolution OLED screen from BOE.
