A top executive of UK-based Pearson on Tuesday said digital contributed 60 percent of annual sales, adding that the company will partner Indian universities to help improve the employability chances of graduates.
In an exclusive interview to CNBC-TV18's Anu Sharma, John Fallon, chief executive officer, said, "The digital transformation of the company makes it a very different company. Today, we have globally some 4 billion pounds in annual sales."
Speaking on improving the employability, he said, "We are partnering with universities in India to help them think about how they can ensure that graduates are employable."
On digital, Fallon said it is a similar proportion of sales here in India as well. "I would say that the transformation of Pearson globally into a company that is completely obsessed with learners, will help people to make progress in their lives through learnings. We are seeing a world of talent and helping to democratise and personalise education in ways that were never possible before. That ambition for Pearson around the world is very much what we want to do here in India as well,” he said.
