Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus unveiled its latest smartphones — OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro priced Rs 32,999 onwards — on Tuesday. The new smartphones will be available in India from June. Even though OnePlus smartphones are among the most sought after phones in India, it faces stiff competition from its peers such as the smartphones from Google, the Pixel generation phones. On Wednesday, the newly launched Google Pixel 3a and 3XL will hit the Indian market through Flipkart, priced Rs 39,999 onwards.
Here's a comparison of both the phones, in an attempt to help you choose your next smartphone:
Price
OnePlus 7 starts at Rs 32,999 and comes in a new red colour. The top-end variant of the phone with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage is priced at Rs 37,999.
OnePlus 7 Pro will be offered in three variants at a starting price of Rs 48,999. The 8GB and 256GB model and 12GB and 256GB model are priced at Rs 52,999 and Rs 57,999 respectively.
The Pixel 3a will cost Rs 39,999 while the Pixel 3a XL will cost Rs 44,999 in India. The firm launched these budget phones in an attempt to tap emerging markets, such as India.
Google, in October last year, launched its Pixel 3 and 3XL in India priced between Rs 71,000-92,000. The prices of these devices now hover around Rs 57,000-74,000.
Camera
Both OnePlus and Google have always flaunted the inbuilt cameras on their smartphones.
The OnePlus 7 Pro comes with three cameras at the back with 48-megapixel OIS Sony IMX586 sensor along with a 16-megapixel wide-angle camera and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with OIS. For selfies, OnePlus 7 Pro has a pop-up camera to go with the whole full-screen design.
The OnePlus 7 features a smaller 6.41-inch optic AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch and a dual-rear camera with one 48-megapixel sensor with f/1.7 aperture and another 5-megapixel depth sensor. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6.
The Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL sport the same camera as Google Pixel 3 and 3XL. The phones come with a 12.2 megapixel f/1.8 sensor on the back and a slightly different 8 megapixel f/2.0 selfie camera on the front, without the second ultra wide lens.
The smartphones also sport camera features such as Night Sight -- which as the name suggests is about capturing images in dim light without a flash, minus the hefty price tag of the flagship Pixel phones.
Processor
Both Google 3a and 3XL phones feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 670 processor, 64GB on onboard storage, and 4GB RAM.
OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 855 SoC. The phones come with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage and will run on Oxygen OS based on Android 9 Pie.
