Public sector leaders partner with Samsara to advance real-world AI innovation in communities nationwide

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Samsara Inc. ( IOT ) ("Samsara") , the pioneer of the Connected Operations® Platform, today announced its 2026 Public Sector Customer Advisory Board. Across the U.S., public sector organizations maintain the critical infrastructure and services that communities depend on every day. The board members are seasoned leaders partnering with Samsara to co-develop solutions built for the unique demands of public service.

"Samsara's Public Sector Customer Advisory Board sets a new standard for safety and service delivery across the country," said Shelita White, Operations Chief of Staff at the City of New Orleans. "Public sector organizations face high-stakes and visible challenges that technology isn’t always built for. With Samsara, it’s different. We’re using AI to solve real-world problems and drive impact where it matters most to our residents."

Samsara's Public Sector Customer Advisory Board has produced meaningful product innovation, including the fuel theft detection alert, which delivers real-time notifications when a sudden drop in fuel level is detected—an important capability for protecting taxpayer dollars and managing costs amid rising fuel prices. Their input shaped Weather Intelligence, which allows organizations to predict and adapt to weather-related disruptions, including severe storms. The board has also guided new solutions set to debut at tomorrow's Go Beyond Public Sector event, innovations that will change how organizations monitor, maintain, and protect infrastructure nationwide.

Board members span municipal fleets, state transportation departments, utilities, and airports, and include leaders from organizations such as:

City of Boston, Robert Pardo, Director of Central Fleet

City of Houston, Margarita Garcia-Meza, Senior Division Manager

City of Kansas City, Michael Shaw, Director of Public Works

City of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Raul Fletes, Fleet Services Manager III

City of New Orleans, Shelita White, Operations Chief of Staff

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, Clinton Gray II, Senior Risk Management Services Manager

Los Angeles County Fire Department, Sara Rathbun, Acting Assistant Chief

Nebraska Department of Transportation, Benjamin Merchant, Assistant Operations Manager

Road Commission of Kalamazoo County, Rusty McClain, Assistant Operations Director

Santee Cooper, Debra Guerry, Senior Director Enterprise Services

State of South Carolina, Thomas Howie, State Fleet Manager

State of Tennessee, Gary Ryan, Fleet Telematics Administrator

"Public sector organizations operate with constrained budgets and aging infrastructure, yet must deliver vital services to their communities every day," said Ben Calderon, CTO of Hardware and Operations at Samsara. "This board represents the leaders closest to those challenges, and their insights are critical to our innovation. We are proud to build alongside them.”
