Samsung Electronics launched the next generation of its category-defining foldable device called the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2. One thing is clear, with this device Samsung is targeting anyone and everyone who enjoys 'being on the cutting edge of technology’. What's new in the Galaxy Z Fold2: The screen gets bigger
In terms of the hardware, Galaxy Z Fold2 sports a larger 6.2-inch Infinity-O cover screen and 7.6-inch main screen. The cover screen lets users up their usability game like checking emails, maps, or even content viewing without needing to unfold your device every time. Once unfolded, you will be staring at a massive 7.6-inch main screen that secretly packs in a notch-less front camera and minimized bezels. In terms of our first impressions, sure the device looks shiny and gives a high-end feel.

Samsung has heard critics and bumped in a hideaway hinge into the device's body. According to the company, the space for the sweeper structure is even smaller than on the Galaxy Z Flip. Under the hood Galaxy Z Fold2 supports 5G band compatibility and a 4,500mAh battery that supports fast charging.
Flex mode experience
Galaxy Z Fold2 has thrown in a new Flex mode experience with App Continuity, which will allow to you switch seamlessly between the cover and main screen. Apps that support Flex mode include the camera, video calling, gallery, clock, calendar, and media player apps. Other external apps that will work seamlessly in this mode include YouTube and Google’s Duo apps. One of the cool use cases of the Flex mode is that users to capture content and review it in real time without leaving the camera app.

You can see photos or videos you just took or review up to five of your most recent captures on the bottom half of the Main Screen, and the preview of your next shot will be on the top half. Using the Main and Cover Screen at the same time with Dual Preview, both parties can see what’s being captured. Another cool add-on is the Auto framing feature which enhancing your videos
Other tips and tricks
Samsung is betting big on the multitasking with this device using the multi-active window which lets users control your screen layout with more ease and flexibility. Using the multi-window tray, you can open multiple apps at once, drag and drop text, images and documents from one app to another.
In the box
In the box you will get the Galaxy Z Fold2 of course, a data cable, travel adapter, ejection pin and quick start guide. Samsung has thrown in earphones (USB Type-C) with sound by AKG. Samsung is also offering an online tool to customise Galaxy Z Fold2 with four distinct Hideaway Hinge colors - Metallic Silver, Metallic Gold, Metallic Red, and Metallic Blue.
Price and availability
The Galaxy Z Fold2 has been priced at $1,999 In the US will be available in Mystic Black and Mystic Bronze, in around 40 markets including on September 18, 2020, with pre-orders from September 1, 2020 starting with select markets including the U.S. and Europe. We are yet to hear updates on the India price and availability.
