Sentience Launches Personal AI That Thinks, Remembers, and Acts Like You
Mar 26, 2026 8:03 AM

In the future, 99% of all intelligence will be artificial. Sentience is built to emulate and multiply individual human minds

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Sentience, the personal AI that thinks, remembers, and acts like you, launches publicly today, giving people an AI that truly feels like their own. The company has raised a $6.5 million seed led by Bain Capital Ventures, with participation from South Park Commons, Daybreak Ventures, Terrance Rohan (Otherwise Ventures), Soleio, Annie Case, and more. Sentience builds a digital version of each individual that understands their knowledge, reflects their voice, and operates with their context.

Tools like ChatGPT and Claude have made powerful language models widely accessible. But they are trained on massive datasets and optimized for statistically likely responses. By design, they gravitate toward the average. As more people rely on the same systems, outputs begin to converge, voices grow more alike, and intelligence becomes increasingly centralized within a handful of dominant platforms. Unlike generic assistants trained on everyone, Sentience creates a personal simulation that individuals own and shape over time.

“We’re building for people who want to preserve and augment their individual taste, experience, and knowledge. If your judgment and your voice are your advantage, you shouldn’t hand that over to a generic model,” says Sam Kececi, founder and CEO of Sentience. “Progress comes from people with strong points of view, texture, and originality. We believe the future belongs to billions of personal models owned by individuals, amplifying their unique traits."

Sentience captures a person’s digital life across all platforms, starting with desktop and mobile. It builds a high-fidelity personal model that recalls information, communicates in the user’s voice, prepares meetings using their own context, and shares knowledge with collaborators on their terms. Sentience is fully private, encrypted, and owned entirely by the user.

Rather than replacing existing software, Sentience sits above it as a memory and identity layer. Users decide what stays private and what they share. Over time, each model learns how its user thinks and can operate alongside them, answering questions only they could answer, and preserving the knowledge they have built over years.

“Major AI labs have dramatically increased access to intelligence, but to a median composite that doesn’t capture much of what makes us individuals,” said Kevin Zhang, Partner at Bain Capital Ventures. “Sentience flips that model. Sam and his team are building infrastructure for personal AI that each of us can control, shape, and leverage to scale our consciousness.”

Early users range from founders preparing for board meetings with full context from years of decisions, to investors building living research archives in their own voice, to teachers generating lesson plans that reflect their philosophy and style. Writers, designers, and other creative builders use Sentience to protect and scale the thinking that makes their work distinct.
