Largest fund in the Firm's history reinforces Serent's long-term commitment to partnering with Founder-led software and technology-enabled services businesses

AUSTIN, Texas & SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Serent Capital, a private equity firm focused on investing in bootstrapped, Founder-led software and technology-enabled services companies, today announced the successful closing of Serent Capital VI, L.P. with $1.3 billion in investor commitments. Fund VI represents the largest fundraise in the Firm's history and was significantly oversubscribed, bringing the total capital commitments raised by the firm to more than $5 billion.

"The successful close of Fund VI allows us to continue executing on our long-standing goal of partnering with exceptional Founders and help them build enduring businesses," said Lance Fenton, Partner at Serent Capital. "We are grateful for the confidence our investors have placed in us. Their support strengthens our ability to provide Founders with a long-term partner, deep operational resources, and the flexibility to invest behind ambitious growth initiatives."

Existing investors powered the fundraise, with the fund being more than 2x over-subscribed from just that group. Serent also invited in a small handful of new investors, who continue to add to its platinum investor base. All told, Serent completed a single close of the fund in less than 90 days from the launch of fundraising. That support reflects the consistency of Serent's strategy and long-term approach to partnership.

The Firm's investment strategy remains consistent, with a continued focus on partnering with Founders of software and technology-enabled services businesses. Serent seeks to make both majority and minority investments in companies with strong product-market-fit, happy customers, and engaged teams. Through its partnership approach and operational resources, Serent aims to help companies strengthen the foundations that can support strong revenue growth, high revenue recurrence, attractive gross margins, and durable business models. Since its founding in 2008, Serent has partnered with more than 100 software and technology-enabled services businesses, combining deep sector expertise with operational resources to help Founders accelerate growth, strengthen operations, and build enduring category leaders.

As software markets continue to evolve, Serent has expanded the capabilities available to portfolio companies to help them capitalize on the opportunities created by artificial intelligence. Working alongside management teams, Serent is helping portfolio companies identify and execute on building AI capabilities across product development, customer workflows, go-to-market execution, and operational efficiency.

"We believe the pace of change across software has never been greater," Partner, Kevin Frick added. "Artificial intelligence represents another important technology transition, and we see it as an opportunity to help Founders deepen customer value, strengthen competitive positioning, and build even better businesses. As we have throughout prior technology cycles, we remain committed to investing in the people, capabilities, and resources needed to help our companies navigate that change successfully."

A core component of Serent's approach is its dedicated Growth Team, which works shoulder-to-shoulder with Founders and management teams to accelerate growth. The Growth Team includes more than 25 experienced professionals who help portfolio companies strengthen go-to-market execution, recruit world-class executives, and drive AI, product, and M&A initiatives. Since inception, the Growth Team has partnered with leadership teams at more than 100 software and technology-enabled services companies, providing hands-on support tailored to each company's stage of growth. For more than a decade, Serent's Human Capital team has supported more than 550 executive placements across the portfolio, with 71% filled through the proprietary Serent Executive Network rather than traditional search firms, giving Founders access to proven leadership as they scale.

The successful close of Fund VI further strengthens Serent's ability to partner with Founders over the long term, helping them scale their businesses, invest in innovation, and build enduring category leaders.
