Empowering finance teams to transform data into actionable insights across the enterprise with Solver FP&A for Microsoft Fabric data

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 28, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Solver, an AI-accelerated xFP&A (extended financial planning and analysis) software company, today announced its new integration with Microsoft Fabric. The integration enables Solver customers working in various industries access to best-of-breed planning and reporting solutions that provide deeper insights into their data. It also builds on Solver's multi-faceted AI strategy unveiled at its ASCEND customer conference in August 2025.

The Solver integration with Microsoft Fabric enhances a company's financial planning and analysis capabilities by leveraging their Microsoft Fabric unified data foundation. Microsoft Fabric consolidates data movement, storage, engineering, science, real-time intelligence, and analytics into a single Software as a Service (SaaS) platform powered by Microsoft OneLake. By connecting Solver's xFP&A Suite with this unified data source through Microsoft Fabric, finance and operational teams can perform planning, reporting, and analysis directly on trusted, governed data.

"Solver's Microsoft Fabric integration empowers businesses to transform their operations through several key capabilities," said Mike Applegate, Chief Technology Officer for Solver. "Users can design reports and budget forms within Solver's Excel add-in, all connected to the governed Microsoft Fabric data. This allows for the creation of professional financial and operational reports and dashboards. The integration also helps automate time-consuming budgeting and forecasting processes through dynamic, driver-based models that leverage the Microsoft Fabric data, while also allowing for the consolidation of all key data sources into Solver for streamlined financial processes."

Solver's integration with Microsoft Fabric works across all Fabric experiences, including Lakehouse, SQL, Synapse Data Warehouse, and other core components—ensuring seamless connectivity to governed data. For customers using legacy Azure SQL Data Warehouse workloads, these continue to run without disruption as part of Synapse's dedicated SQL pool.

"By integrating Solver with Microsoft Fabric, business insights become accessible across an organization, ensuring finance and operations work from the same single source of truth," said Nils Rasmussen, Chief Executive Officer. "We're giving CFOs, CTOs, finance teams, and other groups the ability to visualize complex data through easy-to-share graphs and dashboards to harness their data's full potential, enabling them to quickly respond to market shifts."

For example, users can model various scenarios and run simulations to determine the most effective financial strategies. By bringing in operational drivers, such as product, region, or channel data from Microsoft Fabric, finance teams can immediately see the impact on their P&L, balance sheet, or cash flow.
