While NPSG Supports Ongoing CAD Implementation, RMS Project Builds on Strong Partnership Committed to Strengthening Officer and Community Safety

ABERDEEN, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Spokane Regional Emergency Communications (SREC) in Washington, has signed a contract with National Public Safety Group (NPSG) to provide consulting services for their Law Enforcement Records Management System (RMS) and Mobile Field Reporting (MFR) replacement project. This new agreement continues a nearly four-year-old partnership that began with NPSG’s support of SREC’s Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) project. Both public safety software projects aim to increase officer, first responder, and public safety for Spokane County’s population of more than 550,000.

The expanded partnership comes while NPSG continues to guide SREC through implementation of their CAD system, after completing successful Needs Assessment, Selection, and Procurement services for the agency. Building on that experience, SREC has engaged NPSG to provide Needs Assessment, Procurement, and Project Management services to guide the RMS selection and implementation process.

With the help of NPSG, the RMS replacement project will help modernize operations for seven agencies that receive emergency communications and support from SREC, including Airway Heights Police Department, Cheney Police Department, Eastern Washington University Police Department, Kalispel Tribal Police Department, Liberty Lake Police Department, Spokane Valley Police Department, and Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

“Our partnership with National Public Safety Group has been incredibly valuable as we modernize the systems that support public safety across Spokane County,” said SREC Executive Director Lori Markham. “Their team brings deep expertise in public safety technology and a clear understanding of the complexities agencies face during projects like this. We trust their guidance and appreciate their collaborative approach as we move forward with both CAD and RMS initiatives. This work is critical to ensuring our partner agencies have reliable, modern tools that ultimately help keep our responders and communities safer.”

NPSG originally partnered with SREC following a competitive selection process to support the agency’s transition to a modern, unified CAD software. Throughout that engagement, NPSG has provided guidance and project oversight while advocating for SREC’s interests. The decision to select NPSG again reflects confidence in their ongoing collaboration and the firm’s ability to navigate complex public safety software projects without vendor bias.

“We started talking with the Spokane team in 2021, and signed our first agreement with them in June of 2022,” said Buck Mims, CEO of National Public Safety Group. “This has been such a strong partnership, and one we have thoroughly enjoyed. Lori and her team are a true pleasure to work with, are very good at what they do, and are most importantly going about their projects the right way. They truly want what’s best to help increase officer, first responder, and public safety for the Spokane community. For the NPSG Team, working with the SREC team feels like working with co-workers. We’ve worked through some very difficult situations together, and we always find the best answers. We look forward to working with this amazing team for years to come.”

With a team composed largely of former public safety professionals who have served both on the agency and software vendor sides, NPSG brings experienced subject matter experts to each engagement. Combined with their proven four-phase NPSG Operating System (NPSG-OS) approach, they help agencies make informed decisions, reduce risk and protect technology investments.

By continuing their successful partnership with NPSG, SREC is ensuring continued resources, expertise, and a methodical approach to this important technology initiative that directly impacts officers and the communities they serve.
