UK watchdog says it may accept remedies in $35 bln Synopsys-Ansys deal

Jan 8 (Reuters) - The UK's competition regulator said on

Wednesday that it might accept remedies offered by the parties

in chip design software maker Synopsys' ( SNPS ) $35 billion

acquisition of Ansys ( ANSS ).

The Competition and Markets Authority said the undertakings

offered on Dec. 31 included the divestment of Ansys' ( ANSS ) power

consumption analysis product for digital chips and Synopsys' ( SNPS )

sale of its global optics and photonics software business.
