EdgeRunner delivers Navy-specific AI at the tactical edge with unlimited tokens

NORFOLK, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

EdgeRunner AI, the leader in military-specific, on-device artificial intelligence, today announced that the U.S. Navy has granted Impact Level 6 Authority to Operate (IL6 ATO) accreditation for the EdgeRunner OS, validating the on-device platform for some of the military’s most sensitive and mission-critical operational environments.

EdgeRunner OS has also been officially listed within the Department of the Navy Application and Database Management System (DADMS), the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps’ authoritative enterprise registry for approved IT systems, software applications, and operational technologies. This designation further establishes EdgeRunner AI as a trusted AI platform for secure deployment across the Department of the Navy.

“Achieving our IL6 ATO with the Navy is a defining milestone for EdgeRunner and powerful validation of our ability to deliver secure, mission-ready AI for the Department of War’s most sensitive operational environments,” said Tyler Saltsman, Co-Founder & CEO of EdgeRunner AI. “We’re proud to partner with the Navy to deploy next-generation capabilities that empower sailors with AI that thinks like the Navy at the tactical edge for decision dominance.”

This designation further validates EdgeRunner AI’s leading security standards and robust risk mitigation capabilities for the Department of War (DoW), enabling the EdgeRunner OS to be deployed in the most sensitive and mission critical areas. With this authorization, Navy programs can integrate their SECRET-level data with EdgeRunner’s military-specific, on-device platform, bringing the power of Frontier AI to disconnected operations at sea. Importantly, EdgeRunner AI accelerates AI-enabled operations by running LLMs locally, eliminating the need to restrict usage or limit tokens.

“This milestone would not have been possible without the exceptional leadership at NIWC, whose urgency and execution moved this program forward at remarkable speed,” said Saltsman. “I’m especially proud of our engineering team for taking EdgeRunner from founding to IL6 deployment in under two years, an extraordinary accomplishment that positions us among the fastest startups ever to achieve deployment at this level.”
