VerexID Unveils Aria, the First All-in-One Passport and ID-1 Reader Built to Replace Legacy Multi-Device Workflows
Apr 2, 2026 5:59 AM

Patent-pending platform combines passport and dual-side ID-1 capture in one device, with strong early demand and production nearing.

PALM BEACH, Fla., April 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- VerexID today introduced Aria, a patent-pending all-in-one passport and ID-1 reader designed to replace the multi-device setups that have long complicated identity verification workflows. Instead of relying on separate hardware for different document types, Aria brings everything into a single platform, reducing footprint, simplifying deployment, and improving overall reliability.

For years, organizations that needed to process both passports and ID-1 credentials have had to manage multiple devices, power supplies, and integration paths. That approach not only increases costs but also introduces more points of failure. Aria was built to eliminate that complexity by consolidating everything into one streamlined system.

Using 600 dpi contact image sensor (CIS) technology, with an option for 1200 dpi when higher detail is required, Aria captures passports in a single pass while simultaneously scanning the front and back of ID-1 documents. It operates across white, infrared, and ultraviolet light, allowing for authentication-grade imaging without adding friction to the workflow. The result is a single device with one driver, one SDK, and one power source, replacing what has traditionally been a fragmented setup.

"For too long, the market has treated complexity as the solution," said Brandon Currul, Director of VerexID. "Aria changes that. One Device. Every ID."

The platform has already completed two pilot programs with near-flawless performance, and early demand has been strong. As of ISC West in Las Vegas, VerexID reported 290 purchase orders across multiple industries ahead of its official launch. The company expects to have final production units ready by early June 2026, followed by an initial run of 1,000 devices.

Aria is part of the broader IDS Holdings ecosystem, alongside IDS-Solutions and AiID, and reflects a shift toward simpler, more integrated identity hardware built for high-volume, compliance-driven environments.
