Smartphone maker vivo announced on Monday that it is launching the Y56 smartphone in a new variant, with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. The price for the new variant is set at Rs 16,999.
The device was originally launched in February this year with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage. This variant is priced at Rs 18,999.
The other specifications of the device remain the same. It features a 6.58-inch FHD+ LCD display and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700, an octa-core 5G-enabled chipset. The device houses a 5,000mAh battery, which supports 18W charging speed.
The device offers 8GB of extended virtual RAM and a microSD card slot that lets you expand the storage to up to 1 TB. It has also been rated IP54 for water and dust resistance.
On the back, the vivo Y56 sports a dual camera setup with a 50MP main lens and a 2MP depth sensor, which allows for a blurred background or bokeh effect in portrait shots. The camera on the front is a 16MP shooter for taking selfies and video calls.
The vivo Y56 comes in Black Engine and Orange Shimmer colour options and is available on all major retail channels — online and offline.
Out of the box, the smartphone will run on Funtouch OS 13, which is vivo's skin based on Android 13.
