All countries have their own laws, some that are unique and some quite strange in their own way. For example, while it’s understandably illegal to ride or drive while under the influence of alcohol, there’s one country where it is illegal to ride a cow after getting drunk. CNBCTV18.com has handpicked a few strange yet intriguing laws that could get you in trouble in another country. Read on to know more.

1. In most parts of the Caribbean islands it is illegal to wear camouflage. Yes, you read that right. Camouflage is only allowed to be worn by the country's military personnel.

2. You cannot wear Winnie the Pooh t-shirts in Poland. As strange as it may sound, Poland has banned the AA Milne character around playgrounds after councillors thought the character was 'inappropriately dressed' and is 'half-naked'. The cuddly bear indeed does not wear pants!

3. In Scotland you can get a ticket for riding a cow drunk. Yes, a 1872 law mandates people not to ride a cow or horse while under the influence of alcohol. The same law states that you cannot carry a loaded weapon after you've downed a few pegs of Scottish whisky.

4. In 2018, Denmark passed a law making it illegal for people to wear a mask in public. Face covers such as helmets, masks, fake beards and burkas were banned. We're sure the move was to identify people, in case of an emergency, but amid the law may have been relaxed amid the coronavirus pandemic.

5. No, you cannot fly a kite in Victoria, Australia and you cannot play a game in a public place if it annoys someone else. But knowing how sport-friendly and carefree Australians are, we’re sure you may not be bothering anyone, even if you did fly a kite.

6. You cannot use a water pistols on New Year's Day in Cambodia. Yes, shop owners do not sell water pistols on the day as a water gun fight can cause "traffic accidents" and "public disorder". However, you can indulge in a water gun fight on any other day.

7. You could land up in jail if swear at someone in the UAE. The emirate can impose a fine or even deported you as "swearing disgraces the honour or the modesty of a person".

8. No lacy lingerie in Russia. In 2014, Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan mandated wearing undergarments made with a minimum of 6 percent cotton. Authorities claimed that move is for health and safety reasons.

9. Japan had banned dancing after midnight following after US soldiers had occupied the country. Although there was a law where citizens were not allowed to dance after midnight, Japan lifted it in 2105, but people are still not allowed to dance in the dark.

10. You have to purchase a burial plot before your death in Sarpourenx, France. As the local cemetery got full, in 2008 the then mayor had issued an ordinance where people could not die within the city limits unless you already had a pre-purchased burial plot.

11. Horn please, when you pass a car in New Jersey. As the world fights against noise pollution, where people are not allowed to honk at traffic junctions and near hospitals and schools, New Jersey laws mandate that while passing a car, you need to provide an audible warning before you pass a car on the left.

12. No sand castles in Spain. Yes there is a law in Spain, where no one can build a sandcastle, even children, and if caught you could be fined from 100 euros up to 1,500 euros, depending on the region.

13. You cannot reincarnate without permission in China! Now we don’t know how this works, but the Asian country has a law where Buddhist monks are not allowed to reincarnate without the government's permission.

14. Portugal has a ban on peeing in the ocean. This is another law where we're not sure how it works. But authorities say that the move will keep swimmers healthy.

15. Married women in Bolivia can only savor one glass of wine. The law also sides by men, who can seek divorce if a wife is seen drinking in public. The law was enacted in the country as lawmen believed alcohol can make a woman immoral.
