Asian Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Decline Slightly in Thursday Trading

10:35 AM EDT, 09/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were tracking lower Thursday morning, declining 0.20% to 2,475.41 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.

From North Asia, the gainers were led by education company 51Talk Online Education Group ( COE ) and pet-focused platform Boqii ( BQ ) , which advanced 8.9% and 8.8% respectively. They were followed by wealth management firm Noah (NOAH) and video-based social media platform JOYY ( JOYY ) , which climbed 4.1% and 3.1% respectively.

The decliners from North Asia were led by financial services company CNFinance ( CNF ) and internet and data center services provider VNET Group ( VNET ) , which shed 12.6% and 6.9% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Zai Lab ( ZLAB ) and tech company Xunlei ( XNET ) , which dropped 6.7% and 6% respectively.

From South Asia, the gainers were led by tech conglomerate Sea (SE) and telecommunications operator PLDT ( PHI ) , which rose 2.6% and 1.9% respectively. They were followed by telecommunications operator Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK) and financial services company ICICI Bank ( IBN ) , which were up 0.7% and 0.5% respectively.

The decliners from South Asia were led by IT firms Wipro ( WIT ) and Infosys ( INFY ) , which fell 2.5% and 1.4% respectively, followed by pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY), which was off 0.4%.
