10:44 AM EDT, 07/31/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were slightly higher on Friday morning, up 0.1% to 2,934.38 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.

From North Asia, the gainers were led by sports schools operator Leifras ( LFS ) and cloud service provider Kingsoft Cloud ( KC ) , which climbed 11% and 7.4% respectively.

They were followed by tech and e-commerce giant Alibaba ( BABA ) and private education services provider New Oriental Education ( EDU ) , which rose 3.2% and 2.6% respectively.

The decliners from North Asia were led by Internet and data center service provider VNET ( VNET ) and autonomous driving technology company WeRide ( WRD ) , which fell 4% and 2.9% respectively.

They were followed by steelmaker Posco (PKX), which shed 2.6%.

From South Asia, the gainers were led by travel service provider Trip.com ( TCOM ) , which added 0.4%.

The decliners from South Asia were led by HDFC Bank ( HDB ) , which fell 1.1%, followed by telecom PLDT ( PHI ) , which was down 1%.
