Asian Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Edge Higher in Wednesday Trading

10:35 AM EST, 01/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were rising slightly Wednesday morning, edging 0.20% higher to 2,129.95 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.

From North Asia, the gainers were led by semiconductor company Himax Technologies ( HIMX ) and media company Phoenix New Media ( FENG ) , which climbed 11% and 6.2% higher, respectively. They were followed by pet-focused platform Boqii ( BQ ) and internet and data center provider VNET Group ( VNET ) , which rose 3.8% and 3.6%, respectively.

The decliners from North Asia were led by mobile big data platform Aurora Mobile (JG) and polysilicon manufacturer Daqo New Energy ( DQ ) , which dropped 5.7% and 5.2%, respectively. They were followed by healthcare platform 111 (YI) and automotive ecommerce platform TuanChe ( TC ) , which fell 4.4% and 4%, respectively.

From South Asia, the gainers were led by IT firm Wipro ( WIT ) and financial services company HDFC Bank ( HDB ) , which rose 3.6% and 3.3%, respectively. They were followed by telecommunications operator Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK) and IT firm Infosys ( INFY ) , which were up 2.1% and 1.4%, respectively.

The lone decliner from South Asia was financial services company ICICI Bank ( IBN ) , which was down 0.4%.
