Asian Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Higher in Friday Trading, Up 5% for Week

10:50 AM EDT, 06/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were higher Friday morning, rising 0.8% to 2,336.86 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index, which has increased about 5% during the week.

From North Asia, the gainers were led by internet and data center services provider VNET Group ( VNET ) and financial services company Nomura (NMR), which advanced 6.5% and 4.1% respectively. They were followed by travel company Tuniu ( TOUR ) and polysilicon manufacturer Daqo New Energy ( DQ ) , which increased 3.8% and 3.6% respectively.

The decliners from North Asia were led by fintech firm Maase (MAAS) and biotech company Zai Lab ( ZLAB ) , which dropped 8.7% and 3.7% respectively. They were followed by education company 17 Education & Technology Group ( YQ ) and tech company Xunlei ( XNET ) , which lost 2.7% and 2.3% respectively.

From South Asia, the gainers were led by financial services company ICICI Bank ( IBN ) and telecommunications operator PLDT ( PHI ) , which rose 1.8% and 0.6% respectively. They were followed by financial services company HDFC Bank ( HDB ) and tech conglomerate Sea (SE), which were up 0.5% and 0.3% respectively.

The decliners from South Asia were led by IT firm Wipro ( WIT ) and pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY), which fell 2.1% and 1.9% respectively, followed by IT firm Sify Technologies ( SIFY ) , which was down 1.4%.
