Asian Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Open Week Slightly Higher in Monday Trading

10:37 AM EDT, 07/08/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts opened the week trending slightly higher Monday morning, rising 0.14% to 2,020.67 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.

From North Asia, the gainers were led by automotive ecommerce platform TuanChe ( TC ) and online education platform 17 Education & Technology Group ( YQ ) , which climbed 9.8% and 8.2%, respectively. They were followed by media company Phoenix New Media ( FENG ) and computer hardware maker Canaan (CAN), which rose 5.3% and 4.4%, respectively.

The decliners from North Asia were led by used car ecommerce platform Uxin ( UXIN ) and casino and resort operator Melco Resorts & Entertainment ( MLCO ) , which fell 14% and 3.9%, respectively. They were followed by diagnostic imaging centers company Concord Medical Services (CCM) and thin-film liquid display maker LG Display ( LPL ) , which dropped 3.8% and 3.3%, respectively.

From South Asia, the gainers were led by biotech firm ASLAN Pharmaceuticals ( ASLN ) and telecommunications operator PLDT ( PHI ) , which increased 3.6% and 2%, respectively. They were followed by IT firm Infosys ( INFY ) and telecommunications operator Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK), which were up 1% and 0.8% respectively.

The decliners from South Asia were led by IT firm Sify Technologies ( SIFY ) , which was off 0.5%, followed by financial services company ICICI Bank ( IBN ) and pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY), which were off 0.3% and 0.2%, respectively.
