10:37 AM EDT, 08/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were higher Friday morning, rising 1% to 2,492.93 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index, which is up nearly 3% for the week.
From North Asia, the gainers were led by tech company Xunlei ( XNET ) and fintech firm Qudian ( QD ) , which surged 28% and 10% respectively. They were followed by electric vehicle maker NIO (NIO) and streaming service iQIYI (IQ), which advanced 6.8% and 6.5% respectively.
The decliners from North Asia were led by e-commerce fashion platform MOGU ( MOGU ) and education company 51Talk Online Education Group ( COE ) , which fell 11% and 5.5% respectively. They were followed by fintech firm Qfin ( QFIN ) and wealth management company Noah (NOAH), which dropped 4.7% and 3.1% respectively.
From South Asia, the gainers were led by tech conglomerate Sea (SE) and IT firm Infosys ( INFY ) , which rose 2.9% and 1.2% respectively. They were followed by IT company Wipro ( WIT ) and lender HDFC Bank ( HDB ) , which were up 0.9% each.
The only decliners from South Asia were telecommunications operator Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK) and IT firm Sify Technologies ( SIFY ) , which were down 1.2% and 0.7% respectively.
