10:48 AM EDT, 05/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were trending higher Tuesday morning, rising 0.59% to 2,251.55 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.
From North Asia, the gainers were led by polysilicon manufacturer Daqo New Energy ( DQ ) and computer hardware maker Canaan (CAN), which rose 11.4% and 6.3% respectively. They were followed by solar panel maker JinkoSolar ( JKS ) and automotive ecommerce platform Cango ( CANG ) , which were up 4.1% and 2.9%, respectively.
The decliners from North Asia were led by the education company 17 Education & Technology Group ( YQ ) and internet and data center services provider VNET Group ( VNET ) , which fell 13.2% and 9.3% respectively. They were followed by and brand platform Baozun ( BZUN ) , which dropped 7.7%.
From South Asia, the only gainers were tech conglomerate Sea (SE) and pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY), which advanced 8.1% and 1% respectively.
The decliners from South Asia were led by telecommunications operator PLDT ( PHI ) and IT firm Infosys ( INFY ) , which were down 1.9% and 1.5% respectively. They were followed by IT companies Wipro ( WIT ) and Sify Technologies ( SIFY ) , which were off 1.3% and 0.9% respectively.
