10:48 AM EDT, 03/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were trending higher Wednesday morning, rising 0.46% to 2,179.66 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.
From North Asia, the gainers were led by advertising agency iClick Interactive Asia Group ( ICLK ) and online game developer The9 ( NCTY ) , which climbed 12% and 7.9%, respectively. They were followed by computer hardware maker Canaan (CAN) and semiconductor company ASE Technology ( ASX ) , which increased 2.9% and 2.5%, respectively.
The decliners from North Asia were led by video-sharing site Bilibili ( BILI ) and consumer lending firm LexinFintech ( LX ) , which fell 7.6% and 5%, respectively. They were followed by internet and data center services provider VNET Group ( VNET ) and video-streaming service iQIYI (IQ), which dropped 4.9% and 4.8% respectively.
From South Asia, the gainers were led by telecommunications operator Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK) and tech conglomerate Sea (SE), which rose 2.6% and 1.9%, respectively. They were followed by financial services companies HDFC Bank ( HDB ) and ICICI Bank ( IBN ) , which were up 1% and 0.9%, respectively.
The decliners from South Asia were led by IT firms Infosys ( INFY ) and Wipro ( WIT ) , which lost 2.1% and 1.6% respectively. They were followed by telecommunications operator PLDT ( PHI ) and pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY), which were down 1.4% and 0.9%, respectively.
