Asian Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Trend Higher in Thursday Trading

10:44 AM EDT, 09/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were moving higher Thursday morning, rising 0.41% to 1,930.84 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.

From North Asia, the gainers were led by online game developer The9 ( NCTY ) and travel company Tuniu ( TOUR ) , which rose 5.8% and 4.4% respectively. They were followed by social network JOYY ( YY ) and internet and data center operator VNET Group ( VNET ) , which were up 1.6% and 1.4% respectively.

The decliners from North Asia were led by pet-focused platform Boqii ( BQ ) and financial services company Dunxin Financial ( DXF ) , which dropped 11% and 9.8% respectively. They were followed by electric vehicle maker NIO (NIO) and biotech firm BeiGene (BGNE), which lost 7.1% and 6.6% respectively.

From South Asia, the gainers were led by tech conglomerate Sea (SE) and IT firm Wipro ( WIT ) , which increased 2.5% and 2.4% respectively. They were followed by financial services company ICICI Bank ( IBN ) and IT firm Infosys ( INFY ) , which were up 1.2% and 1.1% respectively.

The decliners from South Asia were led by IT firm Sify Technologies ( SIFY ) , which lost 2.8%, followed by telecommunications operators PLDT ( PHI ) and Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK), which were off 0.6% each.
