July 27 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened higher

on Monday, buoyed by gains in technology and consumer

discretionary shares, as hopes of a de-escalation in the Middle

East conflict lifted sentiment and boosted risk appetite.

The S&P/TSX Composite Index was up 0.2% at

35,470.77 points at 9:33 a.m. ET.
