July 30 (Reuters) - Canada's resource-heavy benchmark stock
index opened higher on Thursday, as strong earnings from energy
and mining companies lifted sentiment, while lingering Middle
East tensions supported gold prices.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX Composite index
rose 0.4% at 9:30 a.m. ET.
