CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens higher ahead of Fed rate verdict

March 19 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened

higher on Wednesday as investors geared up for the U.S. Federal

Reserve's interest-rate verdict due later in the day.

At 9:31 a.m. ET (1331 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's

S&P/TSX composite index was up 0.45% at 24,821.89.
