April 7 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened

lower on Tuesday as escalation in the Middle East conflict

unnerved investors, with Iran refusing to reopen the Strait of

Hormuz ahead of President Donald Trump's deadline.

At 9:30 a.m. ET, the S&P/TSX Composite Index was

down 0.13% at 33139.47 points.
