CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens lower as gold falls, investors assess economic data

June 27 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened

lower on Friday, dragged by losses in heavyweight mining shares

after gold fell to a near one-month low, while investors

assessed a mixed bag of economic data.

At 9:31 a.m. ET (1331 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's

S&P/TSX composite index was down 0.2% at 26,698.46

points.
