July 17(Reuters) - Canada's main stock index slipped at the
open on Friday as a global selloff in semiconductor stocks
weighed on risk appetite, offsetting gains in energy stocks.
At 9:35 a.m. ET, the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX
Composite Index was down 0.8% at 35,050.49 points.
