European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Climb Higher in Friday Trading

11:14 AM EDT, 07/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were higher late Friday morning, rising 1.39% to 1,473.10 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index. The index is set to end the week about 1.2% higher.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Cellectis ( CLLS ) and telecommunications company Ericsson (ERIC), which rose 4.5% and 3.6% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company argenx (ARGX) and biotech firm BioNTech (BNTX), which were up 2.4% and 1.4% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe included biopharmaceutical company Genfit ( GNFT ) and telecommunications company VEON (VEON), which fell 1.1% and 0.8% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies Bicycle Therapeutics ( BCYC ) and Amarin ( AMRN ) , which climbed 7.5% and 5.6% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company NuCana ( NCNA ) and biotech firm Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) , which increased 5.4% and 3.6% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical companies Biodexa Pharmaceuticals ( BDRX ) and TC Biopharm ( TCBP ) , which dropped 7% and 2.2% respectively. They were followed by insurance company Prudential (PUK) and pharmaceutical company Silence Therapeutics ( SLN ) , which were down 1.1% and 1% respectively.
