European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Decline in Friday Trading

11:18 AM EST, 01/31/2025 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were lower late Friday morning, declining 0.22% to 1,373.53 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by accommodations booking company trivago (TRVG) and pharmaceutical company Ascendis Pharma ( ASND ) , which rose 3.3% and 2.9% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by telecommunications company Ericsson (ERIC) and biotech firm Evaxion Biotech ( EVAX ) , which lost 2.1% and 2% respectively. They were followed by Banco Santander (SAN), which fell 1.6%.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies TC Biopharm ( TCBP ) and Bicycle Therapeutics ( BCYC ) , which advanced 6.2% and 4.2% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Mereo BioPharma Group ( MREO ) and biotech firm Autolus Therapeutics ( AUTL ) , which rose 3.6% and 2.1% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland included biopharmaceutical company Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) cruise line operator Carnival (CUK), which lost 1.3% and 1.0% respectively.
