European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Decline in Thursday Trading

11:14 AM EDT, 10/03/2024 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were lower late Thursday morning, falling 0.96% to 1,412.41 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Cellectis ( CLLS ) and oil and gas firm TotalEnergies (TTE), which rose 4.1% and 1% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) and Grifols ( GRFS ) , which were up 0.9% each.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by semiconductor firm Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) and pharmaceutical company Ascendis Pharma ( ASND ) , which dropped 4.4% and 2.5% respectively. They were followed by telecommunications company Ericsson (ERIC) and software firm SAP (SAP), which fell 2.2% and 1.7% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies Verona Pharma ( VRNA ) and TC Biopharm ( TCBP ) , which advanced 9.7% and 3% respectively. They were followed by Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) , which rose 1.3%.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company Biodexa Pharmaceuticals ( BDRX ) and biotech firm Autolus Therapeutics ( AUTL ) , which lost 12% and 3.9% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company GSK (GSK) and insurance company Prudential (PUK), which were down 2.8% and 2.7% respectively.
