European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Decline in Tuesday Trading

11:12 AM EDT, 10/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were moving lower late Tuesday morning, declining 0.22% to 1,388.98 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by internet browser company Opera (OPRA) and biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) , which climbed 14% and 5.8%, respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Genfit ( GNFT ) and internet advertising firm Criteo ( CRTO ) , which rose 3.1% and 2.4% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by financial services company Banco Santander (SAN) and 3D printer company Materialise (MTLS), which fell 2.7% and 1.6% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company Ascendis Pharma ( ASND ) and telecommunications company Nokia ( NOK ) , which were off 1% each.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) and financial services company HSBC ( HSBC ) , which were up 5.1% and 3.9% respectively. They were followed by educational publisher Pearson (PSO) and software firm Endava ( DAVA ) , which increased 3.2% and 2.7% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by oil and gas company BP (BP) and biopharmaceutical company TC Biopharm ( TCBP ) , which dropped 4.1% and 3.4% respectively. They were followed by telecommunications operator Vodafone Group ( VOD ) and biopharmaceutical company Biodexa Pharmaceuticals ( BDRX ) , which were down 2.1% and 2% respectively.
