From continental Europe, the gainers were led by electronics conglomerate Royal Philips (PHG) and biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) , which climbed 9% and 3.5% respectively. They were followed by software firm SAP (SAP) and financial services company Banco Santander (SAN), which advanced 1.4% and 1.5% respectively.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) and semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) , which shed nearly 22% and 5% respectively. They were followed by internet browser company Opera (OPRA) and biopharmaceutical company Cellectis ( CLLS ) , which dropped 2%.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) and pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca ( AZN ) , which rose 12% and 4% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company Silence Therapeutics ( SLN ) and financial services company Barclays ( BCS ) , which were up 3% and 2% respectively.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company NuCana ( NCNA ) and biotech firm Autolus Therapeutics ( AUTL ) , which lost 9.8% and 6.2% respectively. They were followed by software firm Endava ( DAVA ) and biopharmaceutical company Amarin ( AMRN ) , which were down 0.7% and 2.2% respectively.
