European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Decline in Wednesday Trading

11:24 AM EDT, 07/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were tracking lower late Wednesday morning, declining 0.75% to 1,470.43 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by Grifols ( GRFS ) and argenx (ARGX), which rose 4.2% and 2.5% respectively. They were followed by internet advertising firm Criteo ( CRTO ) , which was up 2%.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) and biopharmaceutical firm Cellectis ( CLLS ) , which tumbled 15% and 7.1% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical firm DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) and internet browser firm Opera (OPRA), which were down 4.5% and 1.2% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) and Bicycle Therapeutics ( BCYC ) , which advanced 2.8% and 2.7% respectively. They were followed by Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) and Autolus Therapeutics ( AUTL ) , which increased 2.2% and 1.8% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by Biodexa Pharmaceuticals ( BDRX ) and Silence Therapeutics ( SLN ) , which lost 7.6% and 1.4% respectively. They were followed by insurance firm Prudential (PUK) and communications company WPP ( WPP ) , which were off 0.9% and 0.7% respectively.
