European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Edge Higher in Tuesday Trading

10:58 AM EDT, 07/01/2025 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts edged higher late Tuesday morning, rising 0.03% to 1,484.51 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by internet browser company Opera (OPRA) and biopharmaceutical company Cellectis ( CLLS ) , which rose 6.1% and 4.6% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Genfit ( GNFT ) and DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) , which were up 3.4% and 1.9% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by biotech firm Evaxion ( EVAX ) and medical device maker EDAP TMS ( EDAP ) , which dropped 3.5% and 3% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company Ascendis Pharma ( ASND ) and semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) , which were down 2.8% and 2.4% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company NuCana ( NCNA ) and cruise line operator Carnival (CUK), which advanced 8% and 2.6% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Amarin ( AMRN ) and biotech firm Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) , which increased 1.7% and 1.5% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biotech firm Autolus Therapeutics ( AUTL ) and biopharmaceutical company Biodexa Pharmaceuticals ( BDRX ) , which fell 3.5% and 2.9% respectively. They were followed by British lender Barclays ( BCS ) and software firm Endava ( DAVA ) , which lost 1.2% and 1% respectively.
