European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Edge Higher Wednesday

11:15 AM EDT, 06/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were edging up on Wednesday morning, up nearly 0.1% to 1,466.83 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by steel producer ArcelorMittal ( MT ) and bank Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria ( BBVA ) , which rose 2.3% and 1.6% respectively.

They were followed by bank Banco Santander (SAN), up 1.2%.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by clinical-stage biotechnology firm Abivax ( ABVX ) and biotech company BioNTech (BNTX), which were shedding 2.2% and 0.1%, respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biotech companies Bicycle Therapeutics ( BCYC ) and Centessa Pharmaceuticals ( CNTA ) , which were rising about 4% and 3.3%, respectively.

They were followed by biotech Autolus Therapeutics ( AUTL ) , up 3%.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biotech Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) and energy giant BP (BP), which lost 5.1% and 1.6%, respectively.
