European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Flat in Friday Trading

11:04 AM EDT, 09/27/2024 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were flat late Friday morning, nudging 0.02% higher to 1,447.65 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index. The index is up approximately 0.70% for the week.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) and internet advertising firm Criteo ( CRTO ) , which rose 8% and 4% respectively. They were followed by energy major Equinor ( EQNR ) and electronic company Philips (PHG), which increased 3.5% and 3.4% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) and semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) , which fell 3.4% and 0.8% respectively. They were followed by lender ING (ING) and furniture maker Natuzzi (NTZ), which were off 0.7% and 0.4% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) and pharmaceutical company Silence Therapeutics ( SLN ) , which climbed 7.8% and 5.3% higher respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Verona Pharma ( VRNA ) and insurance provider Prudential (PUK), which advanced 4.4% and 3% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical companies Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) and NuCana ( NCNA ) , which dropped 6.2% and 4.7% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical peers Biodexa Pharmaceuticals ( BDRX ) and TC Biopharm ( TCBP ) , which were down 2.3% each.
