European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Higher in Wednesday Trading

11:08 AM EDT, 08/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were modestly higher late Wednesday morning, rising 0.22% to 1,422.46 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by Evaxion Biotech ( EVAX ) and biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) , which climbed 9.7% and 4.8% respectively. They were followed by Calliditas Therapeutics ( CALT ) , which was up 1.4%.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) and biopharmaceutical company Cellectis ( CLLS ) , which fell 4.6% and 2.2% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies argenx (ARGX) and Grifols ( GRFS ) , which were down 2% and 1.6% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biotech firm Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) and biopharmaceutical company Verona Pharma ( VRNA ) , which increased 3.9% and 2.5% respectively. They were followed by oil and gas company Shell (SHEL) and biopharmaceutical company Amarin ( AMRN ) , which rose 0.6% and 0.5% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical companies TC Biopharm ( TCBP ) and NuCana ( NCNA ) , which fell 7.9% and 7.4% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) and BHP Group ( BHP ) , which decreased 3% and 2.5% respectively.
