European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Open Week Sharply Higher in Monday Trading

11:13 AM EDT, 07/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts opened the week sharply higher late Monday morning, climbing 1.23% to 1,427.12 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) and Genfit ( GNFT ) , which climbed 6.5% and 5.8% respectively. They were followed by 3D printer company Materialise (MTLS) and medical device maker EDAP TMS ( EDAP ) , which rose 4.2% and 3.6% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by biopharmaceutical companies Grifols ( GRFS ) and Calliditas Therapeutics ( CALT ) , which fell 1.4% and 1.2% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company argenx (ARGX) and semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) , which were down 1.2% and 1% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) and pharmaceutical company Silence Therapeutics ( SLN ) , which were up 3.9% and 4.2% respectively. They were followed by biotech firm Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) and biopharmaceutical company Bicycle Therapeutics ( BCYC ) , which increased 1.4% and 1.8% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company Biodexa Pharmaceuticals ( BDRX ) , which dropped 2.9%, followed by biopharmaceutical companies Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) and NuCana ( NCNA ) , which lost 2.4% each. Biopharmaceutical company TC Biopharm ( TCBP ) was off 1.6%.
