European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Rise in Thursday Trading

11:14 AM EDT, 06/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were modestly higher late Thursday morning, rising 0.18% to 1,482.59 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) and biopharmaceutical company DBV (DBVT), which advanced 12% and 4.4% respectively. They were followed by accommodations booking site trivago (TRVG) and internet browser company Opera (OPRA), which increased 3.4% and 1.8%.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by financial services company ING (ING), which 0.6%. Also declining were oil and gas company Eni (E) and brewing company Anheuser-Busch InBev ( BUD ) , which lost 0.5% and 0.2%.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies Amarin ( AMRN ) and Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) , which rose 4% and 1.8% respectively. Also climbing were software firm Endava ( DAVA ) medical device maker Smith & Nephew ( SNN ) , which were up 2.5% and 1.1%.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical companies NuCana ( NCNA ) and Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) , which dropped 24% and 2.9% respectively. They were followed by mining company BHP Group ( BHP ) and biopharmaceutical company Biodexa Pharmaceuticals ( BDRX ) , which were down 1.2% and nearly 1% respectively.
