European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Rise in Tuesday Trading

11:04 AM EST, 12/31/2024 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were tracking higher late Tuesday morning, rising 0.29% to 1,290.61 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Cellectis ( CLLS ) and medical device maker EDAP TMS ( EDAP ) , which rose 6% and 2.9% respectively. They were followed by internet advertising agency Criteo ( CRTO ) and petroleum refiner Equinor ( EQNR ) , which were up 2.2% each.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) and biotech firm Evaxion Biotech ( EVAX ) , which fell 6.6% and 6.1% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical companies Ascendis Pharma ( ASND ) and Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) , which were off 0.7% and 0.4% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies TC Biopharm ( TCBP ) and Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) , which climbed 7.7% and 6% respectively. They were followed by biotech firm Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) and biopharmaceutical company Amarin ( AMRN ) , which advanced 5.1% and 4.6% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical companies Verona Pharma ( VRNA ) and Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) , which lost 2.3% and 1.4% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Bicycle Therapeutics ( BCYC ) and Mereo BioPharma Group ( MREO ) , which were down 0.9% and 0.7% respectively.
